During Diwali, Deepavali or Divali, people clean their homes and shop for gold to bring good fortune. Homes are decorated with lamps and rangoli design patterns are made on the floors as a celebration. People wear their finest of clothes and families celebrate this day with light works, feasts, sweets and gifts.
