The Commonwealth Parliament has approved amendments to the Environment Protection (Sea Dumping) Act 1981, facilitating the injection and transportation of carbon dioxide (CO2) in Australian waters. Pilot Energy Limited provided an update on the Mid West Clean Energy Project (MWCEP) regulatory process in light of these amendments. The changes enable the provision of a near-term CO2 management service to industrial emitters, offering a means to permanently eliminate emissions during the energy transition.
