The Prime Minister of Samoa, Hon. Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa, together with the Commonwealth Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, recently announced that the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) will take place in Apia, Samoa. It will be commencing on October 21, 2024. The event holds special significance as it will be the first time a CHOGM will take place in a Pacific Small Island Developing State, highlighting the importance of the Pacific region within the Commonwealth.
