About Commonwealth Day
On Monday 14 March 2022, the 53 Commonwealth nations across the globe will celebrate the 45th annual Commonwealth Day. The theme for this year is set to match that of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings- ‘Delivering a Common Future’- in honour of the efforts of the Commonwealth family in fighting global climate change, promoting innovation and interconnection in trade to foster mutually beneficial economic growth and championing democracy and good governance.
The Commonwealth Day 2022 will be celebrated in the UK with a service to be held at Westminster Abbey. As this year is Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Year, marking the 70th anniversary of her service as the Queen, the Commonwealth Day celebrations will be marked with a special commemoration of the contributions of service providers to the Commonwealth community.
