Rapid population growth has increased pressure on the coastal fisheries of Kiribati which are typically artisanal and local. The Government of Kiribati made Community Based Fisheries Management (CBFM) to develop short term community-based fisheries management plans. The Commonwealth Blue Charter case study, finds out its successes and challenges since 2014.
