The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) have announced that the 21st Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa camp will take place in Kigali, Rwanda. Set for 23-26 August at the Petit Stade, this marks the programme’s first venture into East Africa, following previous successful editions in Angola, Egypt, Senegal and South Africa.
The prestigious camp will welcome 60 of Africa’s most promising young basketball players, both male and female, aged 18 and under. Participants will receive expert coaching from current and former NBA, WNBA, and FIBA professionals, alongside comprehensive life skills and leadership training.
FIBA’s Head of Players Unit, Kimberley Gaucher, highlighted Rwanda’s growing significance in African basketball, citing recent achievements, including hosting the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Pre-Qualifying tournament and multiple Basketball Africa League events.
Nike, BWB’s global partner since 2002, will provide participants with athletic apparel and footwear.
