The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2024 concluded recently in Apia, Samoa, where Commonwealth leaders convened under the theme, “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth.” During the summit, heads of government reaffirmed their commitments to addressing global economic, environmental, and security challenges, while fostering resilience, sustainable trade, and inclusive growth, emphasising empowering youth and women.
In this landmark year marking the Commonwealth’s 75th anniversary, leaders celebrated the unity and diversity of the 56-member states, representing a collective of 2.7 billion people, with over 60% under 30. The Commonwealth also announced that Antigua and Barbuda would assume the role of the next Chair-in-Office and host of the subsequent CHOGM, underscoring a shared vision for a resilient and prosperous future among all member nations.
