Africa, in a collective call, has urged the global community to take collective action in mobilizing resources for both development and climate action. African leaders, citing the Paris Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, have challenged the global community to fulfil its commitments. According to the pact, no country should face the dilemma of choosing between their development goals and climate action. President William Ruto and AU Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki, leading the initiative, have called on development partners to align their technical and financial resources with the goal of promoting the sustainable utilisation of Africa’s natural assets.
