Sri Lanka agrees to sign a fresh deal with India to lease out the strategic oil tank farm used as a supply base during World War II for another 50 years in the eastern port district of Trincomalee. Out of 99 tanks, 61 tanks would run under the joint venture formed between the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the local operators of the Indian Oil Company (LIOC).
