India becomes the 3rd top country hosting unicorns as per the Hurun Research Institute report. It has displaced the UK from the spot by adding 33 unicorns in the 2021 start-boom. ‘Unicorn’ is a term used in the venture capital industry for privately held startups with a value of over $1 billion. Education technology company Byju’s emerged to be the most valuable unicorn in India. Mobile ad-tech firm InMobi was the second and Oyo rooms stood at the third spot.
