India links with Maldives with uber connectivity project called The Greater Male Connectivity Project (GMCP). The 6.74 km (4.18 miles) long bridge and causeway link will connect Maldives’ capital Male with neighbouring islands of Villingili, Gulhifahu and Thilafushi. It will be developed by Maharashtra-based construction and engineering company Afcons.
