Cameroonian fintech startup Koree clinched the top prize of US$50,000 in cash at the annual Ecobank Fintech Challenge, a competition organized each year by the pan-African bank Ecobank Group. The challenge aims to bolster innovative startups by offering cash prizes and additional developmental support. Koree made history as the first-ever female-led winner of the challenge, securing the coveted US$50,000 top prize. Wolf Technology from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) claimed the second position, winning US$10,000, while Kenya’s Flexpay Technologies emerged as the second runner-up.
